Claire Morgan: Sculptor

Claire Morgan is a sculptor and visual artist from Belfast, now living in London. Her fascinating sculptures and installations are made of both natural and manufactured materials which range from feathers, leaves, plant seeds, plastic, or rotting fruits. Through the arrangement of the components she creates the absolutely stunning impression of movement in her sculptures. Many of her works display animal taxidermy as part of her abstract art works which might be subject of dispute. But if we can consider it as a way to conserve the beauty and uniqueness of each of these individuals, we recognize the profound respect she has for nature and living beings.

Michael Wolf: Architecture of Density

With his series 'Architecture of Density'  German-born  Michael Wolf documents the complex urban dynamics of Hong Kong, one the world's most populated metropolitan areas. He brings the concept of a high population density, which can be particularly in the Western world difficult to grasp, with his colorful images distressingly closer. The realization that these enormous buildings with their highly repetitive structures are inhabited leave the viewer fascinated but also overwhelmed. We can only presume about the full dimension of these architectural giants. Even without having ever visited Hong-Kong, the viewer has the ineffable feeling of certainty that urban recreational areas like parks or any kind of nature are absent in this ever growing city of concrete.

Tham & Videgård Hansson Arkitekter: Tree hotel

Camouflaged hotel by Swedish architects Tham & Videgård Hansson Arkitekter. The idea of a lightweight aluminum cuboid constructed around a tree trunk and covered by mirrored glass which reflects the surrounding, provides a camouflaged shelter up in the trees. The interior is made of plywood and the windows allow a 360 degree view.
